Stacey here with today's edition of Saturday Standouts and CT Spotlight! I am going to change it up just a wee bit today and do the CT Spotlight first because (unbeknownst to me) I chose a member who is celebrating a birthday today...shanellgambell!!!
So let's all wish Shanell a very Happy Birthday filled with lots of fun and love! I hope you have a wonderful day!
Here is a little about Shanell, in her own words...
So a little about myself. Well, I thought it was fun that you wanted to spotllight me on my actual birthday. Saturday is my birthday and I will be 32. I have been married to my honey for 11 years and I am a SAHM to 4 daughters. They are 8.5, 7, 5, 3.5. I have lived in the same city my entire life. I went to college to be a teacher and was for three years, until my 2nd daughter was born. After that I stayed home. I've always been a crafter. I would go on family vacations and take my scrapbooking stuff with me and scrap in the hotel while my family was out. That was old paper and tape scrapping. I discovered digi when my last daughter was born. A friend was helping me edit a photo for her birth announcement and I was like, seriously, I could have made all this on the computer and not have cut out how many squares of paper and stuck on how many jewels??? After that she gave me a crash course in photoshop and I've been hooked ever since. I was a big lurker around the forums until about 6 months ago. This is my first CT ever and I LOVE it!!
So first up, I asked her to show me (one of) her favourite products from Chelle and she chose...
Shanell also shared her favourite page she has made with Chelle's goodies!
Sophia's 3rd Birthday I just loved the colors and the photo treatment and the kit, well, it's amazing!
I also asked her a few scrap related questions...
What is one thing you put on every layout?
One thing I put on every layout?? Ribbon! I love ribbon. Curled, straight, bowed, I love it! I was so excited when I discovered the polygonal lasso tool. I was always wondering how people got their lines so straight. Well, I use my Polygonal lasso to make a triangle to cut my ribbon nice and straight now.
What is one thing you struggle with on your pages?
The biggest thing I struggle with is composition. I find it so hard to get my LO's to flow. I am a HUGE template fan because it takes the hard part of where to put the pictures. Then I can rotate, flip, change the template and have fun putting elements and pictures on. I also love to use Chelle's Round the Block and Round and Round frames because it helps me to get the groupings of photos down so I can go from there.
Thank you so much, Shanell for letting us get to know you a bit better!
Now on to our Standouts!
Have you browsed Chelle's gallery lately? There is some serious talent posting in there and I have chosen 3 pages to spotlight here for you today! So in no particular order...
