Product Flashback

Hi Everyone, it's Emma (hobbes130) here to bring you a super product flashback. Where did the summer go! It's fall already and I am now beginning to think about Christmas! I am a little obsessive when it comes to holidays I love to get started early, making lists, shopping (what girl doesn't) and my favorite thing of all is decorating the house. As soon as December 1st starts I am literally chomping at the bit to hang the stockings and get the tree up. As a primary school teacher Christmas always starts early for me, by the middle of November we will be rehearsing the play, practicing carols and making christmas crafts.

So in honor of my favorite christmas activity I am flashing back to

Chelle also has the felt nativity available separately.
Now for some inspiration, just look at this wonderful digi creations using this kit I was spoilt for choice in the Scrap Matters gallery for what to show off there were so many wonderful layouts and projects.

Saturday Standouts and CT Spotlight!

Happy Saturday everyone!

Stacey here with today's edition of Saturday Standouts and CT Spotlight! I am going to change it up just a wee bit today and do the CT Spotlight first because (unbeknownst to me) I chose a member who is celebrating a birthday today...shanellgambell!!!

So let's all wish Shanell a very Happy Birthday filled with lots of fun and love! I hope you have a wonderful day!

Here is a little about Shanell, in her own words...

So a little about myself. Well, I thought it was fun that you wanted to spotllight me on my actual birthday. Saturday is my birthday and I will be 32. I have been married to my honey for 11 years and I am a SAHM to 4 daughters. They are 8.5, 7, 5, 3.5. I have lived in the same city my entire life. I went to college to be a teacher and was for three years, until my 2nd daughter was born. After that I stayed home. I've always been a crafter. I would go on family vacations and take my scrapbooking stuff with me and scrap in the hotel while my family was out. That was old paper and tape scrapping. I discovered digi when my last daughter was born. A friend was helping me edit a photo for her birth announcement and I was like, seriously, I could have made all this on the computer and not have cut out how many squares of paper and stuck on how many jewels??? After that she gave me a crash course in photoshop and I've been hooked ever since. I was a big lurker around the forums until about 6 months ago. This is my first CT ever and I LOVE it!!

So first up, I asked her to show me (one of) her favourite products from Chelle and she chose...

Shanell also shared her favourite page she has made with Chelle's goodies!

Sophia's 3rd Birthday I just loved the colors and the photo treatment and the kit, well, it's amazing!
I also asked her a few scrap related questions...
What is one thing you put on every layout?
One thing I put on every layout?? Ribbon! I love ribbon. Curled, straight, bowed, I love it! I was so excited when I discovered the polygonal lasso tool. I was always wondering how people got their lines so straight. Well, I use my Polygonal lasso to make a triangle to cut my ribbon nice and straight now.
What is one thing you struggle with on your pages?
The biggest thing I struggle with is composition. I find it so hard to get my LO's to flow. I am a HUGE template fan because it takes the hard part of where to put the pictures. Then I can rotate, flip, change the template and have fun putting elements and pictures on. I also love to use Chelle's Round the Block and Round and Round frames because it helps me to get the groupings of photos down so I can go from there.
Thank you so much, Shanell for letting us get to know you a bit better!

Now on to our Standouts!
Have you browsed Chelle's gallery lately? There is some serious talent posting in there and I have chosen 3 pages to spotlight here for you today! So in no particular order...

Learning to Sew by Cyndi146

smores by kmkarayannis

C is for Cookie by Tammy Gary

so there you have it! Don't forget to upload all of your pages with Chelle's goodies to her gallery and you just might be spotlighted next!

I love my layouts on my computer, but I love them even more printed in a book:

When you purchase either Back2School Fall Semester, Back2School: Combo, or Back2School: Quickpages you will be entered in a drawing to win one of 2 coupons for a free 8x8 hardbound book from Shutterfly.  (20 pages.  Additional pages and shipping not included.  Expires 11/22)
Contest ends 9/22.

Want to see those kits up close?  I know you do.
At our house we have 4 students who are no longer in elementary school.  This calls for an "older student" add-on:  Fall Semester

And the combo:

Need a way to get that book ready FAST?  How about these FABULOUS quickpages by my creative team (aren't they wonderful?...the pages AND the team.)

Now snag one of these items quick and get yourself entered to WIN that photobook!

The CT has been busy this week with the quickpages, but they found some time to show off Fall Semester as well:

(Sorry about the fuzzy...I'm a little rusty with blog posting.  ACK!)
And now for your freebie.  Here's a couple of quickpages...they are just a sample of what you'll get in the quickpage collection.  Enjoy!

September's Journaling Jumpstart

Hi Everyone, it's Kate (mom2my2monkeys), here with this months Journal jump start. I am one of those scrappers who likes to journal every page. Sometimes, I journal, but have no idea where to put it and end up saving my page for upload without my journaling and it makes me cringe every time I see it! It's not that I can't journal the page because of a loss for words, it's more of a loss for placement! Even using a template doesn't always help me, it just looks funny or the template doesn't show where to put your journaling. So my journal jump start is a little different than normal - I want you to come up with a creative way of incorporating your journaling with your page - it could be a page border, on a text path around your photo's, down one side etc etc. I would love to see the ways you can place your journaling on your page, but still make it feel like it belongs on that page.

For once, getting a little creative with my journaling worked to my advantage. I love how the page below turned out and I managed to write down everything I wanted to! The page below is of my oldest playing soccer using Chelle's kit "Kick-It!"

{Click for Credits}

Need a little help getting started? Check out these fantastic journal helpers in Chelle's store, that are bound to help you get a little more creative with your journaling!

I can't wait to see what you come up with, have fun being creative with your journaling!
